  • Physician-scientist and molecular epidemiologist, the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute,Associate Dean for Genomics,Director, the Duke Precision Genomics Collaboratory

Svati Shah's translational laboratory studies genetic and metabolic pathways in cardiovascular diseases, with a focus on obesity and heart failure. They use integrated omics approaches to identify dysregulated molecular pathways in human disease cohorts and mechanistically validate these signatures in preclinical models, with the ultimate goal of using these findings for personalized medicine efforts. Her clinical interests focus on monogenic cardiovascular diseases; she started and continue to direct the Duke Adult Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic, a multidisciplinary clinic that cares for patients and their families at risk of hereditary cardiovascular diseases.
