亚太心律学会（APHRS）是亚太地区心律失常领域的学术组织，成立于2008年。学会致力于在亚太地区积极开展心律失常基础研究和临床领域的学术交流以及教育培训；促进亚太地区心律失常研究和实践水平的提高。APHRS首任主席为日本Masayasu教授，此后中国台湾陈适安教授、韩国Young-Hoon Kim教授、新加坡Wee Siong Teo教授先后担任APHRS主席。2016年经过全体会员投票，选举张澍教授担任2017年APHRS主席。这是首次由中国内地专家担任APHRS主席，并主持国际学会的工作。

　　张澍教授表示在未来一年的任期中，将努力推进心律失常治疗的规范化与普及化，进一步改进亚太地区心律失常疗法的应用；努力通过研究了解本地区心律失常等心血管疾病的发病情况等流行病学特征，并且通过相关的活动来提升亚太地区人民对心律失常等心血管疾病的知晓度，从而改善亚太地区心律失常患者的健康状况，制定适合本地区患者的专家共识和实践指南，造福该地区人民；努力提升APHRS学会的影响力与作用，加强与促进与国际心律学会组织的合作与交流，如美国HRS、欧洲心律学会。

　　APHRS峰会将于2017年4月7~8日在上海举办，APHRS年会将于2017年9月15~18日在日本东京举办。希望中国的广大同道更多地投身于APHRS活动中来，携手共建亚太心律平台。为提升亚太地区心律失常诊治水平共同努力。

Dear fellow APHRS members and colleagues, 

Happy New Year.

As the president of Asian Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS), I am privileged to ask you to join me and cabinet members to welcome year 2017. Together, I hope to guide the APHRS towards an exciting and fruitful future full of many opportunities and challenges; together, we expand our prestigious society for science and education; and together, we strive to improve patient care in Asia Pacific region.

Since being founded in 2008, APHRS has served as a center for steering the leadership development in science and clinical practice in cardiac pacing and electrophysiology in Asia Pacific region; provided the premier forum through the annual APHRS scientific session for open and substantive exchanges in knowledge and information among professionals and laypersons having interest in heart rhythm; and established policies and programs to ensure the direction with respect to training and practice in adopting the era of medical innovations for better patient treatment. Today, APHRS is internationally recognized in parallel with other international societies including Heart Rhythm Society and European Heart Rhythm Association, and has our own  members from  more than 20 countries. 

I feel so grateful to take the torch passed from the past APHRS Presidents Drs. Masayasu Hiraoka, Shih-Ann Chen and Young-Hoon Kim and the immediate past President Dr. Wee Siong TEO.  I am committed to working with former APHRS presidents and all of APHRS members and persons concerning our society because the society cannot function without a high degree of your involvement and participation.  I will take this opportunity to facilitate enrichment of our knowledge via scientific meetings, educational courses and our official Journal of Arrhythmia; promote research activities for innovation via collaborations between members and with investigators worldwide; andadvocate further internationalization through more collaboration with sister societies.

The 2016 9th APHRS scientific session in Seoul was exceedingly successful under the leadership of Dr. young-Hoon Kim.  I’d like to remind you that 2017 10th APHRS scientific session will be held in Japan September 15-18, 2017. It will be a wonderful opportunity for us to learn and share scientific knowledge, research experiences, medical innovations and clinical findings in the field of heart rhythm. My cabinet members and I are looking forward to seeing you there.

I invite all current APHRS members and those with interest in heart rhythm to join us as we continue the development of our society and work together for advancing our own knowledge and improving patient care!
